SAMMY: EDB 7/95, white with tabby spots, long hair
Maggie came into Happy Tails with her housemate, Duffy, and her littermate, Maggie, after their owner died. She is the more outgoing one in the bunch, and really likes people, but is glad to still have her friends with her. Because she and Maggie have been together for 13 years, they need to be adopted together—they'd really like Duffy to come with them if possible, but it is not required. Sammy is beautiful and she wants to be back in a home like she's used to. Take a chance on these older girls, and they will reward you with their love.

SAMPSON: EDB: 6/99, Black with Siamese features, short hair, declawed
Sampson, and his brother, Delbert, are new to the Happy Tails Adoption Center as of August 2008. They were adopted together as kittens, and their family tearfully had to give them up when they had to move out of their home. They make beautiful Siamese "music" together. Sampson is a friendly guy, but seems a little more reserved than his brother. We are requiring that they be adopted together.

SEQUOIA: EDB 5/07, grey tabby, medium hair
Sequoia was found abandoned at the river and went to a Happy Tails foster home for a while to get healthy and to get socialized – she was not a feral cat, but she had been terrified living out on her own. Her foster parent gave her a lot of love and attention, and now she's ready to go out into the world and find her own home (with our help, of course). She is a little on the quiet side, but very affectionate, and very sweet. She gets along well with other cats and likes people.

SHEEBA: EDB 9/07, black, short hair
Sheeba wandered into the back yard of a Happy Tails volunteer quite pregnant and "agreed" (with a little persuasion) to have her kittens in our volunteer's garage. She was very hungry and was happy to have food and attention. She had 3 very pretty babies who have now found homes. She then came to our adoption center. She has been spayed and has all of her shots, and is very friendly. Like a lot of black cats, people don't seem to see her, but she has the gentle, sweet, mellow personality characteristic of black cats.

SINNI: EDB 3/00, dark grey with white, short hair, blind in one eye, declawed
Sinni is very sweet and friendly, and desperately wants her own home. She has been at the Adoption Center for quite a long time, and we can't really understand why. She has had a skin condition in the past that required a special diet, but that seems to have gone away. And, even if it comes back, she just has to be on a specific food for a while. She used to be a little stand offish, but she has gotten very friendly in the last few months, and we'd like to see her rewarded with a special home. Maybe that home is yours?

SOCKS: EDB 5/00, grey/brown tabby, medium hair
Socks came into Happy Tails in early May 2008 with her life-long companion, Washay. Their owner was moving out of the State and unable to take them with him. They are very sad and miss him a lot, but are grateful to still have each other, and we want them to be adopted together so they can stay that way. Socks will take a little time to warm up to you, but once she does, she will talk your head off—she apparently has a lot to say. She is a pretty kitty with a nice disposition, very friendly and very social. Anyone would be lucky to have these two lovely girls in their home.

SONNY: EDB 3/95, light orange tabby, short hair
Sonny came into Happy Tails in March 2008. He was rescued by a good Samaritan from an abusive neighbor who was throwing him up on a roof. He is a great cat and holds no grudges against people for this mistreatment. He is ready to settle down in a nice comfortable place, with people who love him and treat him the way a dignified cat of his age should be treated. He looks and acts much younger than his estimated age. He is very friendly and affectionate.

SOPHIE: EDB 9/05, calico, short hair
We don't know a lot about Sophie's history, but we do know that she is painfully shy and that it will take a person with a lot of time, patience and love to bring her around. She has been at Happy Tails since she was a little over a year old. She had one very short adoption, but the person didn't have the time to spend with her, so returned her. Her former adopter said that she was friendly, but very timid. She is a very pretty cat, and you can tell that she wants to be friends, but doesn't know how, or has forgotten how. If you can give her the chance she deserves, we are certain that you and Sophie would be rewarded eventually by a beautiful friendship. |

STANLEY: EDB 11/98, grey tabby and white, long hair, declawed
Stanley was a Happy Tails cat several years ago. He was adopted for four years (and declawed during his adoption illegally). His adopter surrendered him to the SPCA in July 2008. The SPCA scanned his microchip and realized he was a Happy Tails cat and returned him to our Adoption Center. He is a friendly, loving boy, and it will break your heart that someone left him behind when they moved away to a new job. Somebody will be the recipient of a great cat due to this sad fact. Stanley is wonderful – and he will be thrilled to get a new home that he can count on being permanent this time. |

SURI: EDB 5/07, grey and white, short hair FIV+
Suri was abandoned in front of the Happy Tails Adoption Center in a carrier with her five kittens. The carrier had a note taped to it saying she was HIV+ so the person couldn't take care of her. She was in a foster home until her kittens were weaned, and is now at our adoption center looking for a home. Her FIV status should not be a problem if she is an only cat, or lives with another FIV+ cat. She can live a long and healthy life. And, you will love her. She is gentle, loving and friendly, very social, and wants nothing more than to live a comfortable, happy life with her permanent person or people in her forever home.

SWEET PEA: EDB 9/03, tortoiseshell, long hair
Sweet Pea is one of the prettiest cats at Happy Tails. She was found in April 2005 after she was abandoned by her family; a nice neighbor realized she had been left behind and brought her to Happy Tails. She hasn't ever really gotten over it and still holds her abandonment against most people. She recently spent two months at a foster home (with her best friend, Stripes) learning to be more social with people. It took a little while for her to warm up, but she did make some progress. She will do anything to have a string toy to play with and she is very curious. Her foster parents were able to sit next to her on the couch or bed, and they could scratch her chin while she was eating. They were very encouraged that she had started to explore the whole house before they had to bring her back to the Center. They recommend that she be adopted by a patient, mellow person with enough time to sit close to her and to introduce her to petting, without any pressure. She would also love it if you could bring her friend, Stripes, with her.
