Image of Tau
TAU: EDB 1994, black Bengal, short hair
Tau came into Happy Tails in late April 2008 because his owners couldn't keep him due to a new baby who is around the house and allergic to cat dander. They didn't give us much information about his personality. We know he is a little frightened of loud noises (aren't all cats?), very playful – loves catnip!, has a mellow personality and likes to sleep on the bed. So far, he seems to be a sweet guy despite the fact that he is learning to adjust to a new situation after being in a home for most of his 13 years. Why not give him the chance to get right back into his own home?

Image of Tiffany
TIFFANY: EDB 3/94, grey, short hair
Tiffany's records indicate that she was born in 1994, but we think they are wrong and that she is quite a bit younger than that—she sure looks younger. She is a little stand offish, but she has not had a very secure life, and once she finds her own home, she will likely soften up some. She probably would prefer a quiet home with one person and no other cats. She's a pretty little thing and could make someone quite happy.

Image of Ray
RAY: EDB 7/05, orange, short hair
Ray, together with his brother, Tomm, were trapped in a feral colony in 2005 and deemed to be too friendly to stay with the other feral cats. Together they spent several months at a Happy Tails foster home, and became a little more socialized. The foster parent thought they would become more social at the Adoption Center, so they were transferred to the Center in 2007. Ray is still very timid, and doesn't really interact much with people. He must be adopted together with Tomm, who is more social. We hope that in an understanding home, he will come out of his shell a little more, or that his new home will be willing to let him keep to himself without pressure. He has the potential to be a friendly cat, but it is not likely that he will ever be a lap cat.

TOMM: EDB 7/05, orange, short hair
Tomm, together with his brother, Ray, were trapped in a feral colony in 2005 and deemed to be too friendly to stay with the other feral cats. Together they spent several months at a Happy Tails foster home, and became a little more socialized. The foster parent thought they would become more social at the Adoption Center, so they were transferred to the Center in 2007. They must be adopted together. Tomm is much more social than Ray, and with some people is very interactive, friendly and affectionate. He will still need some time to adapt to a new home, but will come around pretty quickly. He loves his brother and watches out for him, but will be happy as long as he is around. Please consider giving these two beautiful cats a chance.

Image of Roman
ROMAN: EDB 1/01, brown Abyssinian mix, short hair
Roman has been with Happy Tails since February 2006 after he was found in a feral colony. Although too friendly to stay with the ferals, he is still stand-offish. He was adopted once for a very short time, but was returned in a very short time. Although they were told that he would take months to warm up, they were frustrated that he did not become a lap cat quickly enough. Roman is a very dignified guy, and he occasionally picks an individual that he is very friendly with, but the rest of the time, he likes to keep to himself. If you have the patience and willingness to give him a long time to adjust and warm up, you will be rewarded with loyalty from his handsome boy. If you have a big heart, and a lot of patience, come and meet Roman and take him into your home and your heart.

Image of Smooch
SMOOCH: EDB 6/00, tortie, long hair
Smooch is one of the prettiest cats at Happy Tails. Like a lot of torties, she has a bit of a split personality – loving and friendly one minute, and swatting at you the next. She has had some bad luck, her first owner died, and her second owner had to move in with relatives who would not let her bring her beloved cat. So she is a bit entitled to her "tortietude". She is pretty good about giving you a warning by twitching her tail. When she does that, you know to leave her alone until she's ready for company again. When she is in a good mood, she is a lot of fun—she loves chasing Q-tips and carrying them around, and she is crazy about running water. She used to have some poor bathroom habits, but our behaviorist has worked with her, and she has not had a problem in months, so we believe she is over that. She's a funny, quirky girl, who could bring you a lot of joy. Come in to our adoption center and see what you think of her.

Image of Arinisi
ARINISI: EDB 4/05, brown tabby, short hair
Arinisi started out at Happy Tails as a kitten named Mister. He was adopted as a kitten and then dumped a year later at the SPCA. He found his way back to Happy Tails and was adopted in 2006. His new family named him Arinisi, which means Lion, and he was very happy there. But his owner gradually developed cat allergies, and in April 2008 reluctantly had to give him up. So he is back at Happy Tails. He is a little sad and a little scared, but coming around. His owner says that he likes other cats, but doesn’t like small children, so he needs a home with adults. He likes to play with anything that has feathers on it, and his favorite place to sleep is on the bed with his owner. He is a great cat who deserves a "forever" home this time. Hopefully you can provide that for him.
