Image of Shine
SHINE: EDB 5/03, black with white undercoat, short hair
Shine was found at a construction site with his mother and sister when he was 3 days old. He was very malnourished, and developed a chronic eye problem. In the beginning he was very loving, but as he got older and moved to another foster home he became quite timid. By the time he came to the Adoption Center, he was very distrustful of people. He gets along with the other cats, and occasionally picks a person that he likes. He has very striking good looks, but still has a chronic runny eye. You can tell that he wants to interact with people, but can't figure out how. He loves Mary, who both cleans and feeds at the Center, and will actually sit on her lap for a few minutes every day. If she is in a hurry and doesn't have time to spend with him, he cries when she leaves. So he needs a Mary in his life who can be patient with him and give him an opportunity for a new life. Once he knows that he could trust you and that you love him, he would be loyal to you for life. If you've got time and patience and a lot of love to give, think about offering Shine a home.

Herman

HERMAN: EDB 8/90, brown tabby, short hair, FIV+, one eye
Herman is the most amazing cat in the Happy Tails family. He was found as a stray living on the streets and brought into our Adoption Center in September 2006. He was found to be FIV+ and blind in one eye, not to mention that he was covered with scars on his ears and neck. Now almost 18 years old, in April 2008, his blind eye had to be removed due to growing inflammation that doctors did not want to spread to his good eye. Through all of this, he is the best-natured, most lovable cat, and a favorite with everyone. He came through his surgery with flying colors, loves to sit on your lap, and still occasionally plays like a kitten. We would love for him to find a loving home to spend the rest of his years. He has had a hard life, and not let it get him down, and he deserves his own place in the sun in front of your window. If your heart is as big as his, you will fall in love with him.

Image of Ursula
URSULA: EDB 3/01, black, short hair
Ursula came to Happy Tails in 2002. She was abandoned in a carrier with a kitten, and had clearly been abused. She spent a little time in a foster home, and is pretty content to live at our Adoption Center and to be left alone. She likes her head petted, and her cheeks scratched, but she cannot handle having her body petted. She can be enticed to play occasionally and it is clear that she likes toy mice, toys with feathers, and chasing the light from a laser pointer. She will need lots of patience and loving care. But, she deserves that, and you may deserve the love she will provide in return the right person. If you have the right temperament to give her a warm, secure home, please come in to meet her.

Image of Cash
CASH: EDB 4/01, orange and white, short hair
Cash is a very handsome cat, and he is very afraid of people. He likes other cats a lot, and his background information says he likes dogs, but he can't have seen one in a long time, so we aren't sure if that is still true. He has been at Happy Tails since 2002. His former foster mom says he was a very shy kitten and takes forever to come around. All of that is still true for him. You would have to be willing to give him months to adjust and trust you, and accept that he may never be a lap cat. He can, however, be bribed with food. Even though he's afraid of people, he is first in line when the wet food is served in the morning at the Adoption Center. He has a lot of potential, and is a really good guy—he just needs a chance. Maybe you can give it to him.

Image of Buzz
BUZZ (formerly Cloud): EDB 4/05, white with tabby patches, long hair
Buzz was adopted as a kitten from Happy Tails in July 2005, with her sister, Black Buzz (formerly Clara). Because they have always been together, we require that they be adopted together—it would just be too hard on them at this point in their lives to be separated. Their owner had to move and his new place will not allow him to have his feline friends, so he reluctantly brought them back to Happy Tails May 1, 2008. Buzz appears to a little more on the shy side than her sister, but they are both still settling in and a little scared. You can tell they are both really nice, well adjusted cats—and they are just beautiful. They would really like to get another home really soon, and we are confident that they will. So, if you are interested, you had better come in to look at them right away before they get grabbed up.

KAMON: EDB 12/02, black and white, short hair
Kamon has been at the Happy Tails Adoption Center since December 2005 and he has never been adopted. He was discovered as a semi-feral stray, and he has a hard time warming up to people. He is very shy, but he loves the other cats. He is a very dignified and handsome guy and you just want to hug him, but he won't let you – in fact, he is hard to get near to pet even. But we know the right person exists for every cat (we've seen it many times), so maybe you are the person Kamon is looking for. He'll know you when he sees you – and if you can give him the time he needs, you'll be friends forever.
Clara
CLARA: EDB 9/06, black, short hair
Clara was found as a stray in a back yard with her three little kittens. She is just a tiny little thing and pretty much a kitten herself. In fact, she still looks like a young kitten and you won't believe she already raised a family. She was taken to a foster home to raise her babies, and then moved on to the Adoption Center once they were weaned. She was a wonderful mother, but she was not friendly at her foster home, and we actually thought she might be feral. But once her babies were gone and she came to the Center, she is just as friendly as anything. She loves to be petted and talked to. She is as cute as a button, and is ready to be pampered and carefree. She might be best as an only cat, but she will be a great friend to you.
