ALMOND JOY: EDB 5/03, dilute calico, short hair
Almond Joy is a pretty cat with grey, peaches and cream fur. She was found wandering around in a PetSmart parking lot when she was about two years old, and it was apparent that she had recently had kittens, although there was no sign of them. She has had one adoption, but was returned because she was too active for the senior lady who had adopted her. She is a little bit of an escape artist—she may be the first cat you see when you come to our Adoption Center. She is often waiting right by the front door wondering if there is a way out. She has an even disposition, gets along with other cats, she likes to play and she is very curious. She's a funny, cute girl and could bring a lot of joy into your life.

Dancer
I was once a malnourished and sick kitty...abandoned
and left to fend for myself. When I was rescued, I
weighed only 6 pounds. When my rescuer picked me up
and gently placed me in a carrier, I was
so happy that I started to dance...and I was reborn
as 'Dancer'. I've been dancing ever since.
Now, I'm a healthy, beautiful Tuxedo gal about 3 to 5 years old who still dances when I'm happy and frisky. I'd love to play hide and seek, but only with you since I'd rather be your only cat. Shall we dance?

KALIA: EDB 10/02, tortoiseshell, short hair
Kalia is a pretty, funny, little cat. She is a fairly typical Tortie, one minute she is your best friend and asks you to pet and love her, and then the other side shows up. She can be hissy and difficult also. But, life would never be dull with her; she's an interesting girl. And, as she gets older, she is more mellow and more lovable, and we see less of her dark side. If you like a challenge, Kalia may be the cat for you. Click
Here to see a short You-Tube video of Kalia at leisure. (AC)

Jamie
All alone...I'm so all alone... sounds like a ballad I used to sing. My human passed on to a better world (I hope) and no one knew what to do with me, so they simply opened the door and left me outside to fend for myself and my kittens. I guess that's what I get for letting that cad of a tom cat have his way with me.
Anyhow, I'm in foster care now and looking for my forever
home. I'm a beautiful, glossy, 2-year-old, black
female that is loveable to a fault. I'm sweet, affectionate,
and playful, too. I'm fairly laid
back and low-key. I like being around other cats
as long as they're not overly dominant (it doesn't
go with my laid-back style). (LS)

SWEET PEA: EDB 9/03, tortoiseshell, long hair
Sweet Pea is one of the prettiest cats at Happy Tails. She was found in April 2005 after she was abandoned by her family; a nice neighbor realized she had been left behind and brought her to Happy Tails. She hasn't ever really gotten over it and still holds her abandonment against most people. She recently spent two months at a foster home (with her best friend, Stripes) learning to be more social with people. It took a little while for her to warm up, but she did make some progress. She will do anything to have a string toy to play with and she is very curious. Her foster parents were able to sit next to her on the couch or bed, and they could scratch her chin while she was eating. They were very encouraged that she had started to explore the whole house before they had to bring her back to the Center. They recommend that she be adopted by a patient, mellow person with enough time to sit close to her and to introduce her to petting, without any pressure. She would also love it if you could bring her friend, Stripes, with her.

DUCHESS: EDB 10/02, calico, short hair
Duchess was abandoned in an apartment complex with Pauley and Molly Brown. They were lucky enough to grab the hearts of a very nice couple who befriended them, fed them and provided them with outside shelter. But they worried about these girls and how they would cope with the coming winter, so they asked Happy Tails to take them if they could catch them. It took them weeks to catch Duchess and Molly Brown who arrived at HT September 2007. Duchess was very shy at first, but has now decided to be Miss Social. She sits on the edge of the cat tree and talks to whoever comes by, often accompanied by putting her paw out to stop you so that you will pet her. She is very affectionate and interactive. She'd love to come to your house and bring one or both of her friends with her, but she'll come alone if that's the only option.

BELLE: EDB 9/01, dark, grey dilute tortie, short hair, polydactl
Belle was adopted from Happy Tails as a kitten in December 2001 and just returned March 2008. Her family had grown and she was having a difficult time with children and dogs, and showed it by behaving badly. However, since she has been back at our Adoption Center, she is very friendly and has shown no bad habits. She is very affectionate and sweet and would really like a new, quiet home with lots of love.
