Fall Super Adoption Day
Happy Tails was on hand for the Natural & Organic Pet Day, July 8, sponsored by Whole Foods Market at Arden & Eastern. The day featured one-hour lectures on pet nutrition, holistic care and emergency care. HT hosted an informational table with 12-week-old Kittens - Lana, Lattie and LuLu - who stole everyone's heart!

Painting for Paws!
It was a perfect summer evening for Happy Tails to hold its first Second Saturday Art Show & Reception, Painting for Paws, on June 10. The event took place at 56th and H Street, outside of Sacramento magazine, which sponsored the event. The art show featured 32 paintings donated by local artists, and 24 paintings by the homeless kitties (and one dog) of Happy Tails. The event featured complimentary food & wine, a silent auction, drawing, and tours of the HT Adopt-a-Center. Please see "Upcoming Events" for information on Painting for Paws 2! on Saturday, Nov. 11.

Sacramento Pride
Happy Tails was on hand June 10 for Sacramento Pride, sponsored by the Lambda Community Center, at Southside Park located at 4th & T Streets in Downtown Sacramento. HT hosted an informational table, and passed out information on the sanctuary. Thank you to volunteer Rachel Chatt for representing HT at the event.

Flea Markets
Happy Tails participated in two community flea markets - Hart Center Flea Market on May 13 in Midtown Sacramento and the Elks Lodge Summer Flea Market on June 10 in Carmichael. Thank you to Carol Jaworowski for heading up these events, and to everyone who donated their new and used household items, and volunteered at the event! Fund-Raising Car Wash
Happy Tails held its first fund-raising Car Wash June 3 in parking lot of Pet Smart & Rite Aide at Arden Way and Watt Ave. Thank you to Dian Thomas who coordinated the event, and all the volunteers who came out a washed and scrubbed those cars to benefit HT!

Mobile Adoptions
Happy Tails kitties were on display at two mobile adoptions -Rescue Breed Showcase on April 22 at Davis Picnic Day, and Super Adoption Day on May 21-21 at Country Club Plaza. Thank you to volunteer Kay House for organizing the events, and to all the volunteers who helped make the days go smoothly.

Paws/Play Band Benefit
Nine bands came together to play March 25 for a Happy Tails benefit at the Fox & Goose at 10th and R Streets in Downtown Sacramento. All proceeds from the door plus a percentage from the bar were donated to HT. Thank you to volunteer Katie Johnson for organizing such a great community event for HT!
